Strut Walk

At its core, the Strut Walk is very beginner friendly. What makes it challenging is making it look smooth.

To get started, your weight shift is key. Your feet are placed in a slight angle in front of each other, and you shift your weight forward and back. If this doesn’t feel solid yet or you have questions, have a look at the mini lesson about the Hez. There, we take a very close look at this weight shift.

Stay on the spot
A common struggle is staying in place instead of traveling forward or backward. You can fix this by using your shoulders as your center. Try to keep them in the same spot and bring your feet underneath them.

Think of the Strut Walk as two steps:

  • Step forward into an angle
  • Pull the foot back underneath your shoulders & shift weight

In your Strut Walk you’ll spend a lot of time on one foot, so building a solid one foot balance will help a lot. This is something you can easily improve with practice.
